Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at BCIL successfully transferred a promising technology “A process for the development of Bio-polymer based edible coating materials from agricultural and food processing by-products" developed at the BRIC- National Agri-Food Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI), Mohali. This technology offers coating formulation based on polysaccharides from agricultural and food processing by-products to extend the post-harvest quality of different varieties of fruits and vegetables by 30-45 days under ambient storage. It has been developed by Dr. Koushik Mazumder, Scientist-F, BRIC-NABI and his team and transferred to M/s Cirkla Technologies Private Limited, Mumbai, a pioneer in the area of eco-friendly sustainable packaging, with a strong global presence.

 

The licensing event took place virtually in the gracious presence of Professor Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI, Dr. Raj K. Shirumalla, Mission Director, NBM, DBT- BIRAC, Dr. Purnima Sharma, Managing Director of BCIL and inventors of the technology.
